About The Position

The Promontory Club in Park City, Utah, is seeking a Full-time Summer Seasonal Club Starter and/or Course Advisor (Course Marshall) to assist in the Golf Operations. This role involves managing the daily tee sheet, ensuring equipment is functional, greeting golfers, providing directions, assisting with cart setups, communicating group information, managing tee times, maintaining course cleanliness, organizing the range, and communicating pace of play to members and guests. The summer season runs from May through October, with potential for top performers to transition to full-time permanent roles.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.

  • Service and customer focused attitude.
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing attitude and personality, patient and non-combative.
  • Organized and able to work in a busy environment where the priorities are changing.
  • Team player and professional.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Be in possession of the daily tee sheet and monitor for updates throughout the shift.
  • Make sure all equipment - radios, carts, etc. are working correctly.
  • Greet golfers as they arrive to drop off their bag, pick up their bag, make the turn, or finish their round/practice.
  • Assist golfers in directions to practice facility, golf shop, and locker room, #10 hole etc.
  • Setup carts with correct sets of clubs/rentals.
  • Write down and communicate starter cart #s and corresponding groups.
  • Ability to accurately tell time and help players start on time.
  • Assist in keeping the course and areas around the clubhouse clean, and call attention to golf shop of any maintenance issues needing to be addressed.
  • Keep the range tee neat and organized. Balls/tees/den caddy restocked and in line.
  • Setup practice facility in morning.
  • Restock practice facility during day.
  • Pick range balls using picker or shag bags.
  • Communicate with members and guests about pace of play, also communicate to the Professional Staff about potential issues.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Pro.
