About The Position

Manage and deliver 21st Century Learning Center youth development programming provided in the Academic Success Initiative of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay. Responsible for the site level management of operations of a targeted middle and elementary school program, with primary concern for service delivery to students, outcome measurement, staff supervision, partnership management, and budget management.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Group leadership skills, including and understanding of group dynamics.
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
  • Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay, and the principles and practices of non-profit organization.
  • Demonstration of the ability to communicate with different groups.
  • Successful supervisory experience.
  • Managing facility within budget.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • CDL License Class B with passenger endorsement preferred. Mandatory to obtain within 90 days.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record and consistent access to a motor vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
  • A minimum of three years’ work experience in a Boys or Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.

  • Bachelor’s degree is preffered from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the successful operations of 21st Century Learning Center services, specifically focused on academic enrichment and remedial education.
  • Plans and implements education programs, activities and services that meet FSA Standards.
  • Monitoring tutoring sessions to ensure all students are in accordance with what is stated on their Student Learning Plan (SLP).
  • Communicates and enforces organizational policies, procedures and standards regarding program delivery, quality and fidelity.
  • Provides administrative and logistical support for educational programs.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluation of participating youth.
  • Working with the 21st CCLC Community Liaison, communicate with schools regarding performance and address school suggestions for improvement.
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment for youth and staff through facility management.
  • Manage Club financial resources.
  • Regularly demonstrate impact by measuring targets of performance, monitoring progress and reporting results within deadlines.
  • Train, supervise and motivate staff to achieve program objectives, while encouraging regular member attendance.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with parents, community organizations and leaders to maximize program impact.
  • Will implement special projects and activities (including some night and weekend work).
  • Participate in the required operational functions of BGCTB special event fundraisers.
  • Act as Point of Contact for requests for facilities usage from the community, moving requests up through proper administrative channels.
