About The Position

Club Custodians help provide a clean, safe, and well-maintained club environment for members. They support the In-Shape Member Experience by monitoring cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards and interacting positively and professionally with staff, members, prospective members, and guests. The role is described as an opportunity to begin a career in the fitness industry.

Custodians follow safety procedures and the In-Shape Clean Approach, perform deep-cleaning and disinfecting tasks with specialized tools, maintain cleanliness records, and assist with upkeep of club amenities. During the season, at applicable locations, they may monitor the pool and slide and enforce slide rules. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Basic fitness experience and a passion for fitness.
• Effectively communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
• Flexible and positive attitude toward meeting and exceeding member expectations.
• Work well under pressure and time constraints and display positive behavior in member interactions.
• Willingness and ability to work a flexible shift, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.
• Current CPR certification or ability to pass CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
• Lift and carry up to 45 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Pool maintenance experience is a plus.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• First Aid training is required only at clubs with pool slides.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment by correctly implementing safety policies and procedures.
• Use specialized tools to perform deep cleaning and disinfecting duties.
• Follow and adhere to the In-Shape Clean Approach.
• Maintain cleanliness records using Job Cards and communication logs.
• Assist with daily upkeep of club amenities.
• Help build the member community by providing a consistent member experience.
• During the season, where applicable, monitor the pool and slide and implement slide rules at all times.
• Perform additional assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings as needed.
