About The Position

Club Custodians help maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for members. They deliver the In-Shape Member Experience by monitoring club cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards and interacting positively and professionally with staff, members, prospective members, and guests. The position is an opportunity to begin a career in the fitness industry. The role includes maintaining club amenities and, during the season where applicable, monitoring the pool and slide and enforcing slide rules. Custodians may work flexible shifts, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Basic fitness experience and a passion for fitness.
Effectively communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
Flexible, positive attitude toward meeting and exceeding member expectations.
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints while maintaining positive behavior in member interactions.
Willingness and ability to work a flexible shift, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.
Current CPR certification or ability to pass CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
First Aid training is required only at clubs with pool slides.

Nice To Haves

Pool maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe environment by correctly implementing safety policies and procedures.
Use specialized tools to perform deep-cleaning and disinfecting duties.
Follow and adhere to the In-Shape Clean Approach.
Maintain cleanliness records through Job Cards and communication logs.
Assist with the daily upkeep of club amenities.
Help build the member community by providing a consistent member experience.
Where applicable during the season, monitor the pool and slide as needed and enforce slide rules at all times.
Perform additional assigned duties and responsibilities.
Attend and participate in required meetings and training as needed.
