Opportunity Overview: Club & Community Impact Officer Boys & Girls Clubs of King County (BGCKC) is seeking a Club Relationship Officer to build and deepen relationships with Club families, alumni families, community volunteers, and Club Advisory Boards cultivating them into donors, advocates, and ambassadors who strengthen community powered philanthropy across King County. The Club Relationship Officer is a strategic frontline fundraising and engagement role responsible for identifying, cultivating, and converting Club families (parents/guardians and alumni families) into long-term donors and advocates. This role also leads the growth, activation, and stewardship of Club Advisory Boards (CABs) clubhouse and neighborhood-based volunteer groups that strengthen community ownership, drive peer-to-peer fundraising, and deepen engagement across Boys & Girls Clubs of King County’s 11 clubhouses and 23 school-based clubs. A key dimension of this role is activating families and community volunteers in support of signature, countywide events that elevate mission visibility, celebrate youth, and generate critical philanthropic support. Equally important, this role builds internal capacity by partnering with Club staff to embed a culture of family engagement and philanthropy across the organization.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, community engagement, or relationship management.
  • Demonstrated success in donor cultivation and/or grassroots fundraising.
  • Experience working with volunteers, advisory boards, or community groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills across diverse communities.
  • Ability to inspire and mobilize volunteers and non-traditional donors.
  • Excellent communication skills, including storytelling and facilitation.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and tracking engagement metrics.
  • Passion for youth development and commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background check including a National Criminal History Background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Clubs or similar community-based regional networks a plus.
  • Experience engaging parents/families in a school, youth development, or community-based setting.
  • Familiarity with peer-to-peer fundraising strategies and event-based fundraising.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills reflective of King County communities a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a strategy to identify, segment, and engage Club parents and family members as prospective donors.
  • Build a pipeline that moves families from program participants to engaged supporters to donors to ambassadors.
  • Partner with Club staff to integrate fundraising touchpoints into the family experience (e.g., enrollment, events, milestones).
  • Conduct outreach (1:1 meetings, calls, events e.g. lunch and learns) to cultivate relationships with parents and caregivers.
  • Develop tailored giving opportunities aligned with Club priorities (e.g., teen programming, scholarships, enrichment activities).
  • Manage a portfolio of parent and community-based donors and prospects.
  • Partner with Corporate Giving and Community Engagement Officer on club-based volunteering.
  • Lead donor cultivation strategies including storytelling, impact reporting, and personalized engagement.
  • Execute solicitations for annual gifts, campaign contributions, and peer-to-peer fundraising participation.
  • Steward donors through consistent communication, recognition, and meaningful involvement opportunities.
  • Track engagement and giving activity in CRM systems and contribute to revenue goals.
  • Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and evolution of Club Advisory Boards across 11 clubhouses and 22 school-based club clusters.
  • Ensure CABs reflect the diversity of Club families and surrounding communities.
  • Define and standardize CAB roles, expectations, and annual goals in partnership with Development and Club leadership.
  • Support the facilitation of regular CAB meetings, ensuring alignment with countywide organizational priorities and clubhouse needs.
  • Coach and support CAB members to serve as ambassadors, connectors, and fundraisers.
  • Partner with CABs to design and execute peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns tied to specific Club needs (e.g., teen programming, summer learning, athletics).
  • Support CAB-led initiatives such as: Community events, Staff appreciation efforts, Local business engagement, Micro-campaigns for program enhancements.
  • Manage resource platforms and provide tools, training, and messaging to empower volunteers to fundraise effectively.
  • Activate parents, families, and CAB members to participate in and support signature Boys & Girls Clubs of King County events, including: Great Futures Gala (e.g., silent auction procurement, table captain recruitment, guest cultivation, and volunteer engagement), Youth of the Year (e.g., community attendance, storytelling amplification, and donor engagement), Field Day and other community-wide events (e.g., family participation, volunteer coordination, and local visibility).
  • Recruit, coach, and support parent and CAB leaders to serve as table captains, event ambassadors, and peer fundraisers.
  • Partner with the Development and Events teams to align grassroots engagement with overall event fundraising goals.
  • Ensure events serve as on-ramps for deeper engagement, converting participants into ongoing donors and volunteers.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Program Leaders, and Athletic Directors to embed parent engagement and philanthropic awareness into day-to-day Club experiences.
  • Train and coach frontline, parent-facing staff on how to: Identify and engage parents as prospective donors, CAB members, and ambassadors, Recognize signals of readiness for deeper engagement or giving, Confidently share impact stories and funding needs with families, Develop simple tools, scripts, and engagement pathways that staff can easily incorporate into their roles.
  • Support Club teams in activating families around fundraising opportunities, CAB participation, and signature events.
  • Foster a culture where every staff member sees themselves as a relationship builder and ambassador for the mission.
  • Serve as an internal consultant and thought partner to Club leaders on family engagement strategies.
  • Work closely with Club Directors and frontline staff to identify engagement opportunities and ensure alignment with program delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Development team on campaigns, messaging, and donor journeys.
  • Partner with Marketing/Communications to elevate parent stories and community impact narratives.
  • Serve as a bridge between families, Club staff, and the Development function.
  • Track and analyze parent engagement, donor conversion rates, event participation, and CAB performance.
  • Use insights to refine strategies for family-based philanthropy and volunteer activation.
  • Contribute to broader fundraising strategy and innovation within the Development team.
