About The Position

UW Medicine Primary Care at Northgate has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Laboratory Technician - Phlebotomist. Conveniently located along I-5 near the Northgate Transit Center, UW Medicine Primary Care at Northgate offers primary care appointments six days a week, including evenings and same-day appointments. Requirements

  • Able to be certified as a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist with the Washington State Department of Health within 90 days of hire.
  • High School / GED
  • Minimum one-year relevant experience or training in a clinical laboratory or medical setting (for CLT2)

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and stat laboratory tests utilizing automated or semi-automated equipment, kit assays, and microscopic evaluations.
  • Understands, operates, maintains, and troubleshoots applicable equipment and testing methods.
  • Performs work accurately and precisely, organizing workload to meet service demands calmly, efficiently, and without direct supervision.
  • Performs quality control analyses on all tests assigned and determines whether all parameters are within established ranges.
  • Participates in training and demonstrating routine laboratory techniques to new employees in coordination with the CLT Lead.
  • May send out letters to patients, as delegated by clinic leadership, with lab results or overdue reminder letters for appointments.
