About The Position

UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Cloud Systems Management Engineer opportunity in Charleston, West Virginia. This role involves designing, building, and managing cloud environments, automating system processes, monitoring performance and costs, ensuring security and compliance, and responding to incidents.

Requirements

Hands-on experience with major cloud providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration systems like Kubernetes.
Experience with automation tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in systems administration with a cloud environment.
A minimum of three (3) years in experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools (AWS Cloudwatch, Azure Monitor, Splunk, or ELK Stack).
A minimum of three (3) years in patch management, backup/recovery, and high availability configuration in the cloud.
A minimum of three (3) years with DNS (Route53/Azure DNS) and Entra, as well as SSO.
A minimum of two (2) years with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Responsibilities

Build and manage cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Write scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate deployments, backups, and routine maintenance.
Track system performance, resource usage, and cost efficiency using cloud observability platforms.
Enforce identity and access management (IAM), network security groups, and data encryption standards.
Troubleshoot outages, analyze logs, and resolve complex application or network issues.
