About The Position

We are seeking a Cloud System Architect with an active TS/SCI clearance and Full Scope Polygraph to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud solutions, including AWS, OpenStack, and Microsoft Azure, and demonstrated experience with tools like OpenShift and Kubernetes. You will be responsible for providing Tier I/II support, implementing and troubleshooting cloud resources, and serving as the technical point of contact between customers and engineering teams. This role requires a DevOps approach to development for both Linux and Windows workloads, including automation with tools like Cloudformation, OpsWorks, Ansible, Chef, and Docker. You will also be responsible for deploying new cloud environments, integration, load testing, disaster recovery, and ensuring seamless transitions with minimal downtime. Identifying agile and scalable infrastructure, selecting the best cloud services, and automating cloud infrastructure deployment are key aspects of this role. Full documentation of the cloud infrastructure is required for handoff to application teams. Experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) using tools like OpenStack, Eucalyptus, OpenShift, and Kubernetes is essential. The architect will deploy new solutions into existing cloud resources or off-premise infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated experience using tools like OpenStack, Eucalyptus, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
  • Must possess one active mid-level or advanced cloud certification (i.e. AWS, Azure, OpenStack).
  • 9 years of related work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (An additional four (4) years of relevant experience can be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree).
  • Must work with little to no prescriptive guidance.
  • Development experience with both Linux and Windows workloads using cloud technologies with automation including Amazon Cloudformation, OpsWorks, Ansible, Chef, and Docker.
  • Demonstrated experience writing software scripts using languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and implementing Infrastructure as a Service (iaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) using tools like OpenStack, Eucalyptus, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
  • Must Possess Strong knowledge of a wide range of cloud services and solutions like AWS, OpenStack and Microsoft Azure products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier I/II support.
  • Follow established guidelines for delivery of cloud based resources.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of customer resources.
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and utilizing cloud based compute resources.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact between the customer and the Architecture and Capacity Engineering teams.
  • Maintain currency of relevant documents and update the Wiki and SharePoint knowledge bases.
  • Monitor and respond to chat rooms.
  • Develop with a DevOps approach for both Linux and Windows workloads using proven, cutting-edge cloud technologies including automation with Amazon Cloudformation, OpsWorks, Ansible, Chef, and Docker.
  • Deploy new cloud production, staging, and test environments.
  • Responsible for all aspects of integration and deployment to include, Infrastructure and application deployment, load testing, and disaster recovery.
  • Take planning seriously and strive for a seamless transition with little to no downtime.
  • Identify the most agile, scalable infrastructure, and select the best cloud services and technologies for customer projects and plan all implementation procedures.
  • Automate and deploy cloud infrastructures.
  • Responsible for full documentation of the cloud infrastructure to enable a smooth handoff to application team.
  • Deploy new solutions into existing cloud resources or off-premise infrastructure.
