About The Position

Halvik Corp is seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to support AWS GovCloud environments at the workspace/application level within a Federal IT program. This role focuses on designing, implementing, securing, and optimizing cloud solutions for project workspaces, applications, databases, analytics platforms, AI/ML workloads, and data products while aligning with enterprise standards established by the Platform Group. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting cloud-native architectures that may include AWS RDS, Databricks, AI/ML platforms, and modern data services operating within regulated federal environments. This role focuses on workspace/application-level cloud solutions, analytics environments, and AI/ML-enabled data platforms. Enterprise landing zones, shared services, core networking, and enterprise platform governance remain the responsibility of the centralized Platform Group. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Cloud Engineers, cybersecurity teams, data engineers, data scientists, AI/ML engineers, application developers, and business stakeholders to ensure workspace solutions are scalable, compliant, secure, and operationally efficient within the AWS GovCloud – Workspace. The Cloud Solutions Architect will also provide technical leadership, mentorship, and operational guidance to Cloud Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 12+ years of IT infrastructure/cloud experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on AWS architecture experience.
  • Experience supporting AWS GovCloud environments.
  • Experience with at least one of the following: AWS RDS, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS AI/ML services
  • Experience supporting AI/ML or advanced analytics environments.
  • Strong understanding of: AWS networking, IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, VPC architecture
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation).
  • Experience working within regulated federal environments.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Experience supporting DevOps, DevSecOps, or MLOps environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
  • Experience with some of the following: Data Lakehouse Architecture, Data integration pipelines, Container platforms (EKS/Kubernetes), Serverless architectures, AWS CloudWatch , New Relic, AWS API Gateway, NGINX
  • Experience supporting Agile federal IT programs.
  • Familiarity with enterprise shared services and platform operating models.
  • Understanding of workspace-level cloud governance within large enterprises.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure AWS GovCloud workspace-level cloud solutions.
  • Support cloud-native and hybrid architectures for: Applications, Relational databases, Analytics platforms, AI/ML platforms, Data Lakehouse
  • Support architectures leveraging: AWS RDS, Databricks, AWS AI/ML services
  • Define workspace-level cloud patterns aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Assist teams with AWS service selection, architecture optimization, and deployment strategies.
  • Develop infrastructure patterns using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Support AI/ML workloads operating within AWS GovCloud environments.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to support model development, training, deployment, and monitoring environments.
  • Support secure AI/ML data pipelines and compute environments.
  • Assist with architecture patterns for: Generative AI, Predictive analytics, NLP workloads, Model hosting, MLOps pipelines
  • Support integration of AI/ML services with enterprise data platforms and workspace environments.
  • Ensure AI/ML solutions comply with federal security and governance requirements.
  • Support provisioning and configuration of AWS GovCloud – Workspace resources.
  • Ensure workspace environments comply with federal security and compliance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot workspace-level cloud infrastructure and integration issues.
  • Coordinate with the Platform Group regarding networking, IAM boundaries, enterprise services, and shared platform capabilities.
  • Implement security best practices including: IAM least privilege access, Encryption at rest and in transit, Logging and monitoring, Vulnerability remediation, Secure networking configurations
  • Support compliance initiatives related to: FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, FISMA, Zero Trust architecture principles
  • Participate in Authority to Operate (ATO) support activities and security documentation.
  • Support CI/CD pipeline integration and cloud automation.
  • Support MLOps and automated deployment pipelines for AI/ML solutions.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code using tools such as: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, CDK
  • Manage Cloud Engineers to improve deployment automation and operational maturity.
  • Provide technical guidance to workspace/application teams.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and technical design sessions.
  • Lead and mentor Cloud Engineers
  • Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Support Agile delivery teams within Scrum or SAFe environments.
