About The Position

Wyetech is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer Level 2 to provide cloud software research, development, and engineering support within a mission-driven environment. The selected candidate will support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, sustainment, testing, validation, and issue diagnosis and resolution. The ideal candidate has experience developing scalable software solutions for distributed cloud environments and working with technologies such as Java, C/C++, Hadoop, HDFS, NoSQL databases, RESTful services, and Linux-based systems.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of directly related software development/engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience developing software using high-level programming languages such as Java, C, or C++.
  • Demonstrated experience with Open Source/NoSQL technologies supporting highly distributed, massively parallel computing environments, such as HBase, Accumulo, and Bigtable.
  • Experience with the MapReduce programming model and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, and Pig.
  • Experience with the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS).
  • Experience with serialization technologies such as JSON and/or BSON.
  • Experience developing RESTful services.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux operating systems.
  • Experience performing requirements analysis and designing at least one Object-Oriented system.
  • Experience developing solutions that integrate and extend FOSS/COTS products.
  • Three (3) or more years of software integration and software testing experience, including developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
  • Demonstrated technical-writing skills and experience producing technical documentation in support of software-development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience or college-level coursework in at least two of the applicable desired technical areas.
  • Candidate must possess an applicable Cloud Developer Certification, including one of the following: AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Elastic Certified Engineer.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required.
  • United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required.

  • Experience deploying applications within a cloud environment.
  • Understanding of Big Data cloud scalability and large-scale distributed computing environments.
  • Experience designing and developing automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms.
  • Experience with taxonomy construction for analytic disciplines, knowledge areas, and skills.
  • Experience developing and deploying data-driven analytics.
  • Experience developing and deploying event-driven analytics.
  • Experience developing sets of analytics orchestrated through rules engines.
  • Experience with linguistics concepts, including grammar and morphology.
  • Experience developing and deploying analytics designed to discover and exploit social networks.
  • Experience documenting ontologies, data models, schemas, formats, data-element dictionaries, APIs, and other technical specifications.
  • Experience developing and deploying analytics within heterogeneous schema environments.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is highly desired and may be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience.
  • A master’s degree in a technical field may be considered equivalent to four (4) years of experience.
  • Degrees in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a similar discipline are considered qualifying technical fields.

Responsibilities

  • Provide cloud software research, development, and engineering services.
  • Analyze software and system requirements and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Develop, install, integrate, evaluate, enhance, sustain, test, and validate cloud-based software.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex software, integration, and system issues.
  • Develop and support software operating within highly distributed and massively parallel computing environments.
  • Develop and integrate software using Open Source, FOSS, COTS, NoSQL, and cloud technologies.
  • Develop, integrate, and maintain RESTful services and data interfaces.
  • Perform software integration, validation, and testing.
  • Develop and execute software test plans and test scripts.
  • Produce technical documentation supporting software-development and engineering activities.
