About The Position

The team is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to join a product development team supporting a highly cleared government customer at Fort Meade (Laurel, MD). This role focuses on building and deploying mission-critical capabilities within large-scale AWS Cloud environments, with a primary emphasis on agile software design, development, and integration into operational systems that directly support national security missions. Duties include design and development of new capabilities, testing, optimization and performance tuning, and ongoing operations and sustainment.

Requirements

  • At least eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting
  • (6) years of experience developing in high-level languages such as Java, C, or C++
  • (5) years of experience developing on UNIX/Linux (RedHat-based) systems
  • (3) years of experience in software integration and testing, including test plan and script development
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate OR AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional certification
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph is required

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience.
  • A Master's degree in a Technical Field will be considered equivalent to four (4) years of experience.
  • A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of new capabilities
  • Testing, optimization and performance tuning

  • Proficiency using AWS SDKs and APIs
  • Strong experience designing and implementing AWS Cloud architectures
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud, including serverless architectures and cloud-native application development/deployment
  • Deep understanding of AWS services, including Lambda functions
  • Experience working in Agile environments with modern source code management tools
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring practices
  • Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs
  • Proficiency in Python scripting
  • Experience developing Angular applications
  • Familiarity with Git
  • Strong Linux experience
