About The Position

Join Peraton’s Cyber Missions team as a Cloud Software Engineer to support mission-critical operations within the dynamic Compute Team. You will be part of a collaborative group developing and optimizing a massively parallel enterprise platform that drives large-scale, data-intensive analytics. This role involves developing cloud-native software solutions using Java within an ecosystem of Kubernetes, Hadoop, Accumulo, and other open-source tools. You will build and support scalable, distributed systems for managing and processing mission data, tackle complex technical challenges impacting national security, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team while also having the autonomy to drive projects independently. The role requires continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Requirements

  • An active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
  • Minimum 8 years in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, development, installation, integration, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related technical field is required.
  • Master’s in a technical field is acceptable and will count towards 2 years of experience.
  • In lieu of the degree, an additional 4 years of experience can be accepted.
  • Proficient in Java and database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with MapReduce frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Pig).
  • Familiar with Linux development, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible.
  • Must have one or more of the following certifications: AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Elastic Certified Engineer.
  • IAT Level II Certification is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with microservices and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
