Cloud Software Engineer (NiFi) - TS/SCI w/poly
About The Position
Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD. The selected candidate will collaborate with the NiagaraFiles development team to maintain and modernize the IC NiagaraFiles application and its components. This work includes contributing to unclassified Apache NiFi components that form the foundation of the IC’s NiagaraFiles platform. Modernization efforts will focus on developing NiFi-based microservices and refactoring existing NiagaraFiles components to improve performance, scalability, and functionality within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
- High School Diploma plus 2 years of related experience OR a Bachelors degree in a technical field (i.e.: Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering) plus 0 years of experience.
- Bachelors degree will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience
- Experience in the development, engineering, interfacing, integration of hardware and software systems to include an understanding of requirements gathering, analysis and functional allocation, concepts of operation, interface standards, and system architectures
Nice To Haves
- Experience developing and maintaining workflows in Apache NiFi and/or NiagaraFiles
- Experience working in AWS cloud environments
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Experience with Git, Maven, and Jira in a collaborative development environment
- Experience with CI/CD automation and pipeline development
- Demonstrated recent hands-on Java development experience in a Linux environment
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the NiagaraFiles development team to maintain and modernize the IC NiagaraFiles application and its components.
- Contribute to unclassified Apache NiFi components that form the foundation of the IC’s NiagaraFiles platform.
- Develop NiFi-based microservices.
- Refactor existing NiagaraFiles components to improve performance, scalability, and functionality within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment.
