The Cloud Platform Engineer will support all phases of systems engineering, software systems development, systems integration, cloud infrastructure, and network engineering activities. This role provides technical expertise, guidance, and recommendations on complex technical initiatives, operational issues, and system enhancements. The engineer will formulate and define system specifications and requirements based on business and technical needs, and develop, modify, maintain, and enhance complex systems, subsystems, applications, and infrastructure components. Utilizing vendor engineering releases, cloud-native services, monitoring solutions, and system utilities is key to supporting operational systems and ensuring optimal performance. The role involves applying analytical techniques to gather information from stakeholders, define technical problems, evaluate alternatives, and design effective technology solutions. Developing and documenting procedures, processes, and technical solutions to resolve system and operational issues is also a core function. The engineer will analyze system architectures, methods of approach, and technical requirements to support project planning and execution, and gather, evaluate, and interpret system, performance, and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Support for cloud-based environments includes deployment, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of infrastructure and applications. Utilizing Splunk and other enterprise monitoring tools to collect, analyze, correlate, and visualize system, application, and security-related data is essential. The role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise logging, monitoring, and observability solutions using Splunk, Cribl, and related analytics platforms to support cloud operations, security monitoring, and troubleshooting activities. Configuring and optimizing log ingestion pipelines, filtering, enrichment, routing, and retention strategies across AWS cloud environments is crucial for efficient data management and actionable operational insights. Monitoring and managing data logging processes to support system health monitoring, troubleshooting, performance analysis, auditing, and incident response activities is required. Investigating and resolving system, network, application, and cloud-related issues to maintain operational readiness and reliability is a key responsibility. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to implement technical solutions and support organizational objectives is expected. Preparing technical documentation, reports, recommendations, and presentations related to system performance, upgrades, and modernization efforts is part of the role. Recommending system improvements, automation opportunities, and technology enhancements for management and user consideration is also required. Ensuring systems meet security, compliance, availability, and performance requirements is paramount.
