About The Position

The Cloud Platform Architect holds enterprise‑wide accountability for cloud platform architecture at FNB. The role defines the multi‑year cloud strategy, sets enterprise standards and guardrails, and governs design patterns across all business units and regulated workloads. By leading the architecture review board and partnering with Security, Risk, and Engineering, the Architect ensures secure, resilient, and cost‑effective cloud solutions aligned to enterprise strategy and regulatory obligations.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure and GCP along with the ability to take best practices and apply them to a hybrid cloud/datacenter model are strongly preferred.
  • Candidates must be local, or willing to relocate to the area.
  • FNB will not provide sponsorship for employment-based visas for this position; only candidates who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. will be considered.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of the education requirements listed below. Specifically, we will accept two (2) years of commensurate experience with an associate degree, or four (4) years of commensurate experience without a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Own and publish the multi‑year enterprise cloud architecture roadmap, reference architectures, and standards across public cloud and hybrid environments; ensure alignment to enterprise and risk strategies.
  • Establish patterns for identity, networking, segmentation, encryption, and access control.
  • Develop cloud resiliency architectures including high availability, disaster recovery, and fault isolation strategies.
  • Architect secure landing zones and governance operating model (policy-as-code, environment separation, guardrails, exception processes).
  • Lead architectural reviews for new cloud workloads and modernization initiatives.
  • Align cloud architecture strategy with enterprise risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Own FinOps-aligned cost governance, capacity strategy, and cost-informed architecture decision frameworks.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and assess architectural impact and risk.
  • Govern cloud architecture through review boards, modernization oversight, and regulatory/risk alignment with audit-ready control evidence.
  • Define enterprise identity, network segmentation, encryption/key management, and access control patterns aligned to Zero Trust.
  • Architect compute, storage, networking, and identity services within public cloud environments.
  • Design infrastructure-as-code frameworks and automation standards.
  • Integrate Develops controls including security scanning, policy enforcement, and pipeline governance.
  • Define observability, monitoring, and logging architecture patterns.
  • Support hybrid connectivity patterns integrating on-premise infrastructure with cloud platforms.
  • Provide technical oversight for large-scale cloud migrations and transformation programs.
  • Mentor cloud engineers, vendors, application engineers, and server engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture to ensure alignment with long-term strategy.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
