About The Position

The Cloud Operations Engineer administers and engineers server solutions and applications in support of Columbia Bank initiatives, provides high-level customer service to bank associates, and assists or advises other TAG teams on technical issues. The role plans, implements, and maintains systems, servers, client-based solutions, storage, and applications. It researches, analyzes, recommends, and implements solutions and enhancements within its scope, while systematically isolating technical issues and providing technical support to clients.

The position prepares system solution designs, implements complex enterprise-class systems and applications, analyzes infrastructure performance to assist with capacity planning, performs system upgrades, and monitors the health of systems, infrastructure, and applications. It shares after-hours and weekend on-call responsibilities to respond to emergency outages.

The employee must comply with applicable bank regulations, policies, procedures, and required training, and maintain working knowledge of relevant policies and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, and Regulation E. The role may include coaching, mentoring, training others, and teaching coursework as a subject matter expert. Occasional travel is required. The position is fully onsite at 17901 Von Karman Avenue, Suite 150, Irvine, CA 92614. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Strong coordination, organization, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.
• Proven experience building and maintaining systems and infrastructure.
• Advanced knowledge of and experience with core infrastructure technologies.
• Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue-resolution techniques.
• Experience with enterprise-class storage systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of technology trends in multiple areas.
• Positive attitude and ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
• Very strong customer service orientation.
• Experience developing architecture documentation and roadmaps.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Seven to ten years of system or network engineering experience in a mid-size company, with a proven track record of success.
