About The Position

Mirantis Inc. seeks a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Kubernetes and KubeVirt at its Austin, Texas facility. The role architects, delivers, and operates enterprise-grade Kubernetes platforms across hybrid AWS and Azure environments for mission-critical workloads. It supports both containerized and virtualized workloads, using KubeVirt to unify VM and container management. The engineer builds production observability platforms; establishes DevSecOps standards and cloud governance; automates infrastructure provisioning; and implements GitOps deployment workflows with Argo CD and Helm. The role also leads cloud modernization, develops reusable reference architectures and automation frameworks, and provides technical leadership through mentoring, design reviews, and collaboration with distributed teams. Networking responsibilities include operating Kubernetes networking for bare-metal and hybrid clusters, using Multus CNI for multi-network pod configurations and MetalLB for load balancing, troubleshooting advanced networking issues, and integrating network configurations with KubeVirt workloads. Telecommuting is permitted.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in the job offered, Software Engineer, Software Developer, Systems Engineer, or a related occupation.
  • Academic training or work experience designing and operating production-level Kubernetes clusters for enterprise workloads.
  • Academic training or work experience with AWS or Azure production infrastructure, including hybrid or multi-cloud architecture design.
  • Academic training or work experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Argo CD and JFrog Artifactory for automated application and infrastructure deployments.
  • Academic training or work experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Ansible for large-scale environment automation.
  • Academic training or work experience in Linux system administration in production environments.
  • Academic training or work experience with DevSecOps practices, including Harbor registry security, access management, and compliance alignment.
  • Academic training or work experience with monitoring and observability platforms for production systems.
