Cloud Engineer (GCP)

Accenture Federal Services•Washington, DC
•$81,000 - $154,700•Onsite

About The Position

Accenture Federal Services is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with hands-on multi-cloud expertise, especially in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role combines implementation of cloud infrastructure with architect-level design, including scalable patterns, automated deployment frameworks, and support for enterprise AI workloads across security domains and compliance boundaries. The engineer will work with custom software deployments and Docker-based workloads, using Cloud Run and potentially GKE, and will build secure, compliant infrastructure through Terraform and CI/CD pipelines rather than console-driven operations. The position supports deployments across unclassified and classified environments and requires adherence to FedRAMP, Zero Trust, and cross-domain solution requirements. The engineer will work with GCP and AWS GovCloud, including hosting AI workloads with Vertex AI and Bedrock, and will collaborate with cloud architects, DevOps engineers, data engineers, and AI developers. The role requires an active Top Secret clearance with CI poly and onsite work in Washington, DC.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on cloud engineering experience.
  • Strong delivery experience on GCP and working knowledge of AWS GovCloud.
  • Expertise deploying Docker-based custom software at scale.
  • Strong Terraform engineering capability.
  • CI/CD-first mindset and comfort designing end-to-end DevOps patterns.
  • Comfort working in secure, regulated, and cross-domain environments.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with CI poly.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Provision and configure cloud resources, with emphasis on GCP services including Cloud Run, Vertex AI, Artifact Registry, Secret Manager, and IAM.
  • Design scalable patterns for containerized workloads, beginning with Cloud Run and expanding to GKE as needed.
  • Deploy and manage Docker-based applications across GCP and AWS GovCloud.
  • Support AI workload hosting using Vertex AI and AWS Bedrock in secure, multi-domain environments.
  • Build infrastructure using Terraform, preferably with modular patterns, and maintain automation-first standards.
  • Write scripts for deployment, automation, and operational workflows.
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions and Cloud Build for reproducible deployments across security fabrics.
  • Implement GitOps and DevOps best practices and avoid console-based configuration.
  • Build and maintain cloud architectures spanning unclassified and classified environments with strict security boundaries.
  • Implement and troubleshoot cross-domain solutions, secure data-transfer patterns, and enclave-specific configurations.
  • Ensure Zero Trust-aligned configurations for each security domain.
  • Support FedRAMP compliance and ATO-related activities for multi-domain deployments.
  • Design enterprise-grade patterns, including multi-tenant environments, reusable modules, structured network segmentation, and standardized deployment frameworks.
  • Configure VPC networking, IAM policies, access controls, and segmentation strategies across clouds and domains.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to support platform reliability, security, and performance.
  • Support migration of on-premises systems to multi-cloud architectures hosting AI workloads.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Solution Architects, DevOps Engineers, Data Engineers, and AI Developers.
  • Explore cloud services proactively and identify services that support architectural and business goals.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate learning, analysis, troubleshooting, and ideation.
  • Document architecture, configurations, runbooks, operational procedures, and cross-domain designs.

Benefits

  • A collaborative and caring community with opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive through hands-on experience, certifications, and industry training.
  • A wide variety of benefits.
