About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with Secret Clearance to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and services, ensuring they meet the operational and security needs of our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and a deep understanding of security best practices. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects for both government and private sector clients. As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current, active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering and administration
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
  • Strong understanding of cloud security practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong proficiency with Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and firewall management in a cloud environment
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions based on client requirements, industry best practices, and security guidelines
  • Ensure cloud environments adhere to security standards, including encryption, identity management, and access control, in compliance with government and regulatory policies
  • Develop automated workflows and scripts to streamline cloud operations. Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and performance
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, network engineers, and security professionals to integrate cloud solutions seamlessly into existing infrastructures
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for cloud-based systems, resolving issues quickly and efficiently
  • Create and maintain documentation related to cloud architecture, processes, and security measures. Regularly report on cloud performance, incidents, and improvements
  • Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies and cybersecurity practices
