Cloud Engineer Co-op
About The Position
Vestmark is seeking a motivated Cloud Engineer Intern or Co-op for the 2027 Spring Semester, starting in January 2027, to join its Platform Engineering team. The team designs, provisions, monitors, and operates the hardware, networks, databases, and cloud services supporting the VestmarkONE SaaS platform. It works extensively with AWS cloud deployments and helps troubleshoot cloud services alongside internal application engineers, with a focus on scalability, security, and service optimization. The co-op will join the client infrastructure implementation and deployment team, working with cloud and systems engineers to learn how Infrastructure as Code is used to provision AWS services and infrastructure. The role will also help validate cloud infrastructure setup and connectivity.
Requirements
- Working toward a BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience writing technical documentation.
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server and SQL Server.
- Familiarity with network technologies including VLAN, HTTP(S), SSL/TLS, and SFTP.
- Familiarity with SaaS applications.
Responsibilities
- Work with the team to deploy and validate cloud infrastructure for development, testing, and production.
- Learn cloud architecture and contribute ideas during design and planning sessions.
- Assist senior engineers with knowledge transfer and process workflow efforts involving other teams.
- Troubleshoot issues across the cloud stack and contribute to their resolution.
- Participate in cloud architecture design reviews and performance optimization.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for processes related to daily tasks and project work.
