About The Position

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer Senior to join our team supporting an ITES task order. This role involves supporting the ALTESS commercial cloud services infrastructure in both public and private cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure). The Cloud Engineer Senior will implement, manage, and maintain secure cloud-based solutions for Army and DoD IT systems, migrate on-premises applications to cloud infrastructure while ensuring security and compliance, and automate routine administrative tasks using modern DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools. The position also requires developing and managing secure transport technologies, integrating and configuring tools supporting CI/CD pipelines, applying automation and configuration management, and monitoring compliance with DoD STIGs, IAVM, and cybersecurity best practices. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and maintaining documentation are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical fields.
  • Demonstrated mid to senior-level experience as a Cloud Engineer.
  • Strong background in managing and delivering multiple large-scale IT or cloud infrastructure projects.
  • Hands-on experience migrating on-premises applications to cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, including computing environment configurations.
  • Extensive knowledge of secure transport technologies including IPSEC, VPNs, and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
  • Skilled in automating routine administrative and operational tasks using tools like Ansible, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Bash, Puppet, and Chef.
  • Experience with version control and collaboration platforms such as Git.
  • Understanding of core IT components including networking, storage systems, server infrastructure, and application architectures.
  • Working knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM).
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, and AWS CodeDeploy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting government agencies, customers, or contracts within federal environments. This includes the Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Civil agencies, and military organizations.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certification: COMPTIA Security+ CE, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), COMPTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Global Industriel Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), Global Information Assurance Certification (GAIC) Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), Certified Network Defender (CND), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Cloud Computing Environment Certification.
  • Secret – IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive Clearance or Tier 3 (T3) investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting the same or similar contract, with an in-depth understanding of the customer environment, requirements, and operational landscape, is highly desirable.
  • Senior-level experience in networking or equivalent technical domain.
