Cloud Engineer I

Reprise Financial
$115,000 - $120,000Remote

About The Position

As a Cloud Engineer I, you will independently support the design, deployment, and operation of Reprise Financial's Azure environment—including AKS running production workloads, App Service, Functions, Storage, Azure SQL, and Key Vault—with growing exposure to our secondary AWS and GCP footprints. You'll deploy and maintain resources using Bicep/ARM Infrastructure as Code, monitor cost and utilization using native Azure query tooling to interpret SKU usage, and collaborate closely with DevOps, Network, and Security teams as Reprise matures its cloud posture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years of hands-on Azure experience across compute, storage, networking, and identity services.
  • Experience with Bicep or ARM templates for Infrastructure as Code; Reprise does not use Terraform in production.
  • Working knowledge of AKS/Kubernetes fundamentals and GitOps-based deployment concepts.
  • Familiarity with Azure Key Vault, GitHub Secrets, and cloud security fundamentals, including identity, network segmentation, and hardening.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across DevOps, Network, and Security teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to AWS and/or GCP services is a plus, given Reprise's multi-cloud footprint.
  • Azure certification, such as AZ-104 or equivalent, is preferred; real-world production experience is weighted equally.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain Azure resources (AKS, App Service, Functions, Storage, Azure SQL, Key Vault, and networking) using Bicep/ARM Infrastructure as Code.
  • Monitor cloud cost, SKU utilization, performance, and capacity using native Azure tooling and reporting.
  • Support AKS cluster operations, including workload deployment coordination with the DevOps team's GitOps tooling (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and Flux).
  • Assist with cloud security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and access control aligned to Key Vault-based secrets management, and respond to cloud posture findings surfaced through Tenable One CNAPP (CSPM/CIEM) and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
  • Balance time across security work, planned project initiatives, and incident escalations, with security and project commitments generally taking precedence over ad hoc escalation requests.
  • Support multi-cloud initiatives involving AWS and GCP resources as Reprise's footprint in those platforms grows.
  • Troubleshoot cloud incidents, document root causes, and implement corrective actions in partnership with Network Engineering for Cloudflare and edge-related issues and with Security.
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, and configuration documentation for supported Azure services.
  • Contribute to disaster-recovery testing for cloud workloads using Azure Backup and support compliance evidence for GLBA, NIST CSF, SOC 1, and PCI-DSS audits.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • 401(k) program, featuring a Safe Harbor Match (100% of the first 3% and 50% of the next 2%)
  • Accrued time off
  • Company holidays
  • Sick time
  • 3 floating holidays
  • 12-week Paid Parental Leave
  • Market-driven salary
  • Bonus opportunities
  • Robust tech package
