About The Position

SOTI is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to join their team. This role involves designing and implementing highly scalable and resilient cloud engineering solutions using AWS/Azure public cloud and Azure DevOps. The engineer will be responsible for implementing CI/CD capabilities, creating infrastructure as code with Terraform, and automating infrastructure scripts. A key part of the role is ensuring the resilience, availability, health, and performance of SOTI's cloud products, including automating Disaster Recovery procedures. The position requires end-to-end ownership of modules, focusing on solution quality, performance, security, and efficiency. The engineer will also contribute to design discussions, review code, drive the adoption of new technologies, and mentor junior team members. Proactive identification and automation of opportunities are also expected.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any STEM-related program.
• Good understanding of DB concepts, data modeling, and storage.
• Strong technical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-group collaboration skills.
• Pride in ownership and passion for innovation.
• Experience in agile methods such as Scrum/XP, Business Driven Development and Continuous Delivery.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in IT with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in DevOps engineering working on Automating solutions.
• Experience with AWS Core Services: CloudFormation, EC2, ECS/ Docker, ELB, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, IAM.
• Highly proficient in at least one scripting language (PowerShell, Python).
• Experience in setting up and troubleshooting AWS/Azure production environments.
• Experience in designing, building, testing, and deploying highly scalable and resilient cloud-based infrastructure.
• Expertise in at least one Technology Domain and working knowledge of other domains and technologies, including API, Events, Security, Integration, Infrastructure, Data, and AI/ML.
• Experience working with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Jenkins).
• Full-stack architecture design experience with multi-tier system and service design and development for large enterprises with a focus on application layer design and infrastructure services.
• Advanced hands-on skills operating in Linux and Windows.
• Proven knowledge of application architecture, networking, security, reliability, and scalability concepts; software design principles and patterns.
• Be self-motivated and driven.
• Strong ability to work with internal resources and vendors.

Nice To Haves

• Certifications in Cloud Architecture (Oracle Cloud, K8S, OpenShift, Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS) are an asset.
• Experience in software design and development in one or more high-level programming languages such as C# or similar.
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms, SOLID principles, and software design patterns.
• Write test automation scripts such as unit tests, integration tests, and performance tests.

Responsibilities

• Be a subject-matter expert as it relates to AWS/Azure cloud platforms.
• Design and implement end-to-end highly scalable and resilient cloud engineering solutions for infrastructure and application services using AWS/Azure public cloud and Azure DevOps on-premises.
• Implement CI/CD capabilities for infrastructure and applications.
• Create and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Maintain and improve existing CI/CD pipelines and processes.
• Contribute to the architecting and implementation of cloud-native and on-premise solutions.
• Write infrastructure automation scripts and templates, and integrate them with DevOps tools.
• Assist SRE and be responsible for uptime by working with architects, development, and the cloud infrastructure team.
• Daily responsibilities include ensuring that our solutions are resilient, available, healthy, and performing well.
• Design and assist in automating the DR procedures for SOTI Cloud products.
• End-to-end ownership of the assigned modules with a strong focus on the solution, code quality, performance, security, and efficiency.
• Actively contribute to design discussions.
• Demonstrate engineering excellence through commitment to quality execution and continuous improvement.
• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices, such as style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
• Drive the team in adopting relevant new technologies, tools, methods, and processes.
• Mentor and train junior team members on design techniques and coding standards.
• Proactively identify and work on automation opportunities
