About The Position

Everforth ECS is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to work in our Arlington, VA office / remote. We’re looking for an engineer with strong hands-on experience across Linux, Windows, and cloud-native environments, paired with a deep automation mindset. You’ve built and maintained CI/CD pipelines, written IaC at scale, and worked in compliance-driven environments where NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and DISA STIGs aren’t foreign concepts. They’re part of your normal workflow. You operate independently, you communicate well across technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you take ownership of your work from design through deployment. Experience supporting federal customers in air-gapped environments is a meaningful differentiator for this role.

Requirements

  • Must have US citizenship.
  • Ability to pass a Public Trust investigation.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of general work experience.
  • AWS certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field. We will consider candidates without a degree who bring 4 or more years of directly relevant experience or equivalent military training
  • 3+ years in Linux and/or Windows system and network administration (DNS, VPN, firewalls)
  • 3+ years with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible
  • 3+ years in Linux and/or Windows system and network administration (DNS, VPN, firewalls)
  • 3+ years with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms

  • Experience supporting federal customers in air-gapped environments

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy secure cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform, Ansible, and/or CloudFormation
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) that bake security in from the start
  • Write automation in Ansible coupled with Infrastructure defined by Terraform code to cut down on manual work and keep deployments consistent
  • Deploy and troubleshoot cloud-native applications across EC2, VPC, EKS, S3, RDS, AWS Bedrock, and related AWS services
  • Implement and maintain security controls including IAM, encryption, network security, SELinux, and kernel hardening
  • Apply DISA STIGs and ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP requirements
  • Support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
  • Collaborate with development and security teams to push DevSecOps practices forward
  • Keep documentation current so the next person isn’t starting from scratch
