About The Position

M.C. Dean is seeking a Cloud Architect to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role will be part of a team responsible for designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services. These services include intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers.

Requirements

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
High School Diploma with 12+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems or
Associates with 10+ years of experience or
Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years experience or
Master's Degree with 5+ years experience
System administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving the system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, and implementing new workstations and system extensions
Vendor certifications for electronic systems preferred
Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends
Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS

Responsibilities

Architect and design hybrid cloud solutions integrating on-prem infrastructure with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
Define cloud architecture standards, best practices, and governance frameworks
Lead design and implementation of virtual networks and connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect)
Lead design and implementation of identity and access management (IAM, Azure AD, SSO)
Lead design and implementation of storage, compute, and container-based solutions
Oversee migration strategies from on-prem systems to hybrid/cloud environments
Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
Optimize workloads for cost, scalability, and performance
Collaborate with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC)
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
Evaluate new technologies and recommend strategic adoption
May act as a subject matter expert, requiring formal and independent learning and the ability to translate this expertise into recommendations in specific circumstances.
Communicates orally with customers and groups on technical security related issues.
Writes reports to document mission events, research findings, procedures, and other technical security related issues.
