About The Position

ICF is seeking an accomplished Cloud Architect with deep expertise in AWS to lead the design and implementation of secure, enterprise‑scale cloud solutions in a complex federal environment. The ideal candidate brings over a decade of experience architecting n‑tier, service‑oriented applications integrating multiple COTS products, and can operate effectively within mission‑driven organizations requiring the highest levels of security. Job Location: Remote within the DC area, occasional travel to client site in Washington, DC. If you accept this position, you should note that ICF does monitor employee work locations and blocks access from foreign locations/foreign IP addresses, and also prohibits personal VPN connections. You may be asked to travel once a quarter to an office or client site. Our core work hours are 8am - 5pm Eastern Time with the option to start earlier or work later depending on your time zone.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • 10+ years designing enterprise-level, n‑tier, service‑oriented applications.
  • AWS Solutions Architect certification (Associate or Professional).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field.
  • 2 years’ experience working with DCSA
  • Extensive experience integrating and architecting solutions involving multiple COTS products.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, federal compliance frameworks, and secure enclave design.
  • Experience with IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Background in DevSecOps, containerization, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in secure SDLC environments supporting federal mission solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of scalable and secure AWS cloud solutions for enterprise environments.
  • Develop end‑to‑end system architectures integrating multiple COTS products within n‑tier, service‑oriented frameworks.
  • Create architectural diagrams, design documents, and technical roadmaps aligned to mission requirements.
  • Ensure cloud architectures meet security and compliance requirements, including federal and DoD standards.
  • Provide architectural oversight across development, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Conduct trade studies, technology evaluations, and cloud modernization assessments.
  • Support cloud governance, configuration management, and best‑practice adoption.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, program managers, and security teams to ensure alignment with mission objectives.
