About The Position

UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Cloud Architect opportunity in Charleston, West Virginia. This role involves designing and implementing scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions, leading migration efforts, ensuring security and compliance, and optimizing cloud spending. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in major cloud platforms, proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, and significant experience in cloud architecture and migration patterns.

Requirements

Deep knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP services.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
Typically 6 to 10+ years in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or cloud engineering.
Minimum of five years (5) of experience in Cloud Architecture including designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions (AWS, AZURE, or GCP).
Minimum of three (3) years of experience with cloud Migration patterns (Rehost, Refactor, Replatform).
Minimum of three (3) years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform.
Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Expert credentials.

Responsibilities

Design and architect scalable, secure, and reliable cloud landing zones and environments.
Lead the movement of legacy systems and data from on-premises data centers to the cloud.
Implement security controls, IAM policies, and compliance guardrails (such as NIST or RMF).
Manage cloud spending models and resource efficiency.
