Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Candidate must meet ONE: Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field; OR Equivalent documented experience in cloud architecture for DoD/enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience (typically 7 years overall, with 5+ years in cloud architecture) designing and delivering secure, enterprise‑scale cloud solutions in regulated or DoD contexts.
  • Hands‑on expertise with cloud architecture patterns, migration strategies, DR/COOP design, identity and access management, logging/monitoring, and RMF/ATO integration.
  • Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS/Azure/GCP) and cloud automation/CI‑CD tooling.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Experience with DoD‑approved cloud frameworks, DISA/DoDIN guidance, STIG/CSS/CSG application to cloud services, and eMASS/RMF evidence workflows.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture, container orchestration (Kubernetes), infrastructure as code, and cloud cost optimization/chargeback models.
  • Prior experience advising senior leadership, producing ROMs/COAs for migrations, and supporting multi-year modernization roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Establish enterprise cloud architecture standards, reference models, migration frameworks, and governance to guide secure transition, consolidation, and hosting strategies across DoD/Army environments.
  • Review and adjudicate complex cloud engineering designs for compliance with Army policy, RMF requirements, DoD‑approved baselines, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Define cloud resiliency, disaster recovery, continuity, and performance benchmarking strategies; validate technical approaches prior to implementation.
  • Lead migration planning, prototype validation, performance optimization, and workload placement decisions across multi‑environment (on‑prem, cloud, hybrid) architectures.
  • Integrate cybersecurity controls, identity/access management, logging/monitoring, and compliance evidence into cloud designs to support RMF/ATO processes.
  • Advise senior leadership on cloud transformation roadmaps, cost/performance tradeoffs, modernization priorities, and technology adoption.
  • Coordinate with engineering, DevSecOps, network, security, and program teams to ensure solution interoperability, scalability, and operational handover.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and provide recommendations for pilots, automation, and capability improvements aligned to mission needs.
  • Produce architecture artifacts, migration plans, decision packages, and executive briefings to support governance boards and acquisition/portfolio decisions.
