About The Position

Oracle Government Defense & Intelligence is hiring a Principal / Master Principal Cloud Architect-Forward Deployed Engineer to support a U.S. Intelligence Community customer. This hybrid position combines remote work, in-office work, and meetings at the client site. Candidates must be based in or within commuting distance of St. Louis, Missouri. The role requires the ability to work on-site with customers for extended engagements and travel 50% domestically and internationally. Applicants must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Poly clearance. The Forward Deployed Engineer is embedded full-time with a dedicated customer and serves as a trusted technical partner and lead architect. The role owns technical success from initial architecture through production deployment and operational adoption, building and deploying OCI-based solutions directly in customer environments. It is focused on hands-on delivery rather than traditional consulting or presales. The engineer translates mission requirements into secure, scalable, resilient, production-grade cloud architectures; builds and configures OCI infrastructure and services; implements infrastructure-as-code and automation; and configures networking, identity, security, observability, databases, storage, and container platforms. The role also hardens pilot deployments into production systems, leads troubleshooting and performance optimization, supports adoption and knowledge transfer, and shares field learnings that can influence Oracle product and engineering direction. Potential work spans OCI compute, virtual cloud networks, identity and access management, Kubernetes, containers and microservices, databases and data platforms, storage and backup, security and encryption, monitoring and observability, high availability and disaster recovery, cloud modernization, and mission applications and analytics platforms. Oracle describes its benefits as including flexible medical, life insurance, and retirement options, as well as employee volunteer programs.
