Ford’s Product Creation and Industrialization organization brings together vehicle, electric, digital, design, and global manufacturing teams to develop vehicles, software, and customer experiences. In this role, the engineer will drive complex mechanism design problems from planning through completion, contributing to fully integrated electric-vehicle sealing systems that meet ambitious cost, weight, efficiency, and operational-tolerance targets. The work takes place on a small, highly collaborative, technically focused team responsible for the end-to-end engineering lifecycle, from ideation and design through testing and industrialization. The position owns the design, development, and release of mechanisms for closures applications or similar systems. The engineer will develop and evaluate designs for future products on Ford’s Universal Electric Vehicle platform, work with the studio team to balance design vision and engineering function, validate product performance through analyses, simulations, and prototypes, and serve as the design-responsible individual across design, tooling, testing, and build phases. The role also involves maintaining technical documentation and bills of material, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and optimizing project costs while prioritizing design effectiveness and safety. This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work four or more days per week. The stated salary ranges are $118,700–$198,500 for salary grade 7 and $138,800–$232,700 for salary grade 8. Final grade and salary depend on candidate skills and experience, role scope, responsibility, and market value. Visa sponsorship is available. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, with employment eligibility verified at hire.
