About The Position

The Closing Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing market operations in the absence of market leadership, ensuring closing procedures, guest service standards, safety expectations, and ready for business protocols are consistently maintained for all departments. This role supports all market functions while promoting a positive environment for guests and staff. The position requires strong communication, sound decision-making, leading by example, operational awareness, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced market environment while upholding company values, brand, policies, and hospitality expectations.

Requirements

Must be 21 years or older
Ability to be MAST 12 certified required
Cash handling experience required
Must have a sincere interest in serving others and providing excellent guest service
Must possess strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
Must be willing to share knowledge with others and learn from others
Must lead by example, work well as part of a team, and demonstrate strong people skills
Must be able to accept change and new ideas
Ability to work independently and be self-directed, while also working effectively with diverse guests, employees, and leadership
Ability to take direction and carry out department tasks and assignments
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Must have dependable, reliable work history

Must be accurate, detail-oriented, and display excellent work ethic
Must have intermediate or higher computer skills

Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Possesses full body mobility, including bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching, with excellent manual dexterity

Responsibilities

Oversees daily market operations in the absence of Market Director and Market Manager
Oversees general market maintenance conditions and maintains the market in a safe, clean, and orderly manner
Supports front-end operations, all product departments, and Restaurant operations as applicable
Efficiently and accurately runs the front end in the absence of department leadership
Assumes front end closing duties in the absence of department leadership
Supports department leadership in maintaining Ready for Business expectations and standards
Effectively secures the market and follows all closing procedures
Ensures all department closing and work ahead procedures are followed and completed
Provides leadership, direction, and support to employees throughout the market.
Supports the training and development of new market employees as needed
Provides, demonstrates, and role models excellent guest service with an attitude of hospitality
Establishes and maintains a positive environment for guests and staff
Responds to guest service concerns, employee matters, and emergencies as needed; identifies solutions and makes sound decisions
Effectively communicates decisions made with Market leadership
Oversees parking lots for safety, cleanliness, and shopping cart collection
Establishes and maintains a culture of safety throughout the market
Keeps up on industry trends, standards, and changes
Ensures dissemination of and adherence to all company, department, security, and safety policies
Adheres to proper waste management, recycling, and sustainability procedures and programs
Operates within the Company’s Core Values, Company Brand, and Business Principles
Follows and ensures proper Receiving practices are followed
Supports market with POS sign needs
Familiar with UKG functions including schedule writing, timecard approval, schedule adjustments
