About The Position
Established in 1993, our school provides an authentic Montessori education focused on the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth of every child. We are seeking an organized, proactive, and supportive After-School Closing Manager to oversee our afternoon program. In this key leadership role, you will support our after-school staff, design engaging student activities, partner with parents during pickup, and ensure seamless communication with the Director and Assistant Director. You will also oversee end-of-day operations to ensure our facility is clean, compliant with state regulations, and ready for the next school day.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting
- Strong understanding of child development
- Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and state childcare regulations
- Must have or be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and state-required Health & Safety training
- Ability to pass a background check, health assessment, TB test, and fulfill state regulations
- Excellent time management
- Strong employee management
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational ability
Nice To Haves
- Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Healthcare/Management preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Guide, support, and mentor after-school staff, ensuring strong team performance, efficient classroom management, and a positive work environment.
- Plan and implement creative, age-appropriate after-school activities aligned with Montessori principles and child development best practices.
- Serve as a reliable liaison between after-school staff, parents during pickup, and the Director/Assistant Director to ensure smooth operational continuity.
- Oversee and execute daily closing procedures, including light cleaning, sanitization, dishes, room reset, and securing the building.
- Ensure the program complies with all state childcare regulations, health and safety standards, and school policies at all times.
