About The Position

The Closing Agent coordinates with the Escrow Officer and Escrow team to ensure that loans are cleared to close. This role involves scheduling loan closings, meeting with buyers, sellers, realtors, and loan officers to have loan documents signed, and disbursing funds directly to the seller and realtor. The Closing Agent also assists in post-closing processes by scanning documents as necessary.

Requirements

College graduate
3-5 years of job experience in the title insurance field or related field
Must be (or be willing to apply to become) a licensed, Kentucky notary
Strong customer service orientation
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact with a wide variety of people, both inside and outside of the organization
Comfortable in front of groups of people
Ability to speak clearly and concisely in front of buyers, sellers, Realtors, and lenders
Strong work ethic
Outstanding people skills
General administrative abilities including typing, filing and use of a computer, copier, and e-fax

Responsibilities

Review all documentation presented by the Escrow team to ensure all documents necessary for a completed close are present.
Verify that the documents to be signed are accurate before presentment.
Meet with the buyer, seller, and when present, realtors and lenders to complete the closing process.
Answer any questions from participating parties.
Involve an attorney for clarifications as necessary.
Ensure that all documents required as part of the closing are properly signed and notarized per the lender closing instructions.
Ensure that buyers and sellers receive blank copies of the documents that were signed as part of the closing.
Explain the owners policy and review the quote and offer; provide information about the owners policy as needed.
Scan or ship documents as required by the escrow team.
Verify that all items as listed on the needs sheet have been completed prior to ending the closing.
Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required.
