About The Position

As a Clinician, you’ll use your clinical skills to support survivors develop safety-plans and address the emotional and financial impact of violence to become economically self-reliant, maintain permanent housing, build job skills, and access community resources independently. You’ll complete biopsychosocial assessments to outline the gender-based violence history for each family; establish a service plan based on each survivors needs; facilitate linkages to social service programs; and explore options for safety, legal, financial, employment, housing, medical care, etc. Additionally, you’ll support your clients to strengthen their own problem-solving skills and assess their own resources and support systems.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with and understanding of NYC housing policies and vouchers.
  • Comfort with running groups.
  • Knowledge of financial empowerment, including but not limited to job applications, credit support, and resume building.

Responsibilities

  • Providing financial empowerment counseling services for families – including advocacy, crisis intervention, and groups.
  • Completing biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans.
  • Facilitating appropriate clinical, therapeutic services as well as psycho-educational individual and group sessions.
  • Advocating for and assisting families and individuals in the negotiation of services through social service agencies.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic modalities.
