About The Position

The Clinician role is within the Behavioral Health & Wellness Department, specifically the Children’s Mental Health Program. This is a full-time, exempt position responsible for providing trauma-informed mental health services to clients in schools and the community. The role involves a comprehensive array of therapeutic services, including crisis intervention, case management, individual and family therapy, and linkage to community resources for children and adolescents. The position operates within a team framework, contributing to team goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology or related field.
  • Must be registered with the California BBS as an LMFT, LMSW, LPCC, LCSW, or AMFT. APCC, or ACSW.
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience in child, youth and family services field.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population, possess cultural sensitivity, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients.
  • Employment may be conditioned upon satisfactory completion of certain background clearances which may include a Department of Justice criminal background check requiring fingerprints (Live Scan), screening through the National Sex Offender Public Website, drug test, tuberculosis (TB) test, and such additional clearances as may be required under the program.
  • Candidate is required to have reliable transportation; therefore, the candidate must successfully complete a motor history check.
  • Candidate must also possess and maintain a current valid California driver’s license and valid auto insurance policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferably in a community based or neighborhood service organization.
  • Experience working with CCBH/Cerner highly recommended.
  • Fluent Spanish speaker with the ability to read and write in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic, case management, and crisis intervention services at the office, contracted schools and in the community, to clients and their families.
  • Conduct intakes, assessments, and treatment plans with clients.
  • Complete all required case file documentation in a timely and routine fashion.
  • Maintain client case files in accordance with County and Agency standards to include electronic medical records in County required databases.
  • Communicate with other involved parties and agencies on a regular basis, including other resources available to clients.
  • Prepare monthly statistics for required County and Agency reports.
  • Adhere to agency and County client confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated reporting policies.
  • Attend and participate in agency required trainings and activities.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, individual supervision and clinical group supervision.
  • Maintain BBS intern number or license.
  • Meet the minimum number of required billing units on a weekly basis as well as caseload size.
  • Assist with outreach to target population in order to effectively reach those in need of services.
  • Assist with implementing contractual and programmatic components.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
