About The Position

The Clinician role is within the Behavioral Health & Wellness Department, specifically for the Children’s Mental Health / School-based Outpatient program. This is a full-time, exempt position primarily based at the Berry Clinic, but may require working at other SBCS office locations, school sites, and community settings. The salary ranges from $100,000 for licensed therapists (LMFT, LMSW, or LPCC) to $75,000 for licensed-eligible therapists (AMFT, APCC, or ACSW). The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the flexibility to work until 8 p.m. two evenings per week. There is one opening for this position.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology or related field.
  • Registered with the California BBS as an LMFT, LMSW, LPCC, LCSW, or AMFT, APCC, or ACSW.
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in child, youth and family services field.
  • Experience preferably in a community-based or neighborhood service organization.
  • Must adhere to agency client confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated reporting policies.
  • Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population, possess cultural sensitivity, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients.
  • Employment may be conditioned upon satisfactory completion of certain background clearances (DOJ criminal background check, National Sex Offender Public Website screening, drug test, TB test, etc.).
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must successfully complete a motor history check.
  • Must possess and maintain a current valid California driver’s license and valid auto insurance policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with SmartCare or similar electronic health record systems is highly desirable.
  • Fluent Spanish speaker with the ability to read and write in Spanish, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed mental health services to SBCS’ clients - both in the schools and the community.
  • Provide a comprehensive in-person array of therapeutic services to children and adolescents, including crisis intervention, case management, individual and family therapy, and linkage to community resources.
  • Work within a team framework, developing and meeting team goals and objectives.
  • Conduct client intakes, comprehensive assessments, and individualized treatment plans.
  • Complete and maintain all required case file documentation accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain client case files in accordance with County and Agency standards, including electronic medical records.
  • Meet required productivity and billable hour expectations.
  • Maintain an active caseload of 20 - 25 clients.
  • Communicate regularly with involved parties, partner agencies, and community resources to coordinate care and facilitate referrals.
  • Prepare, compile, and submit monthly statistical reports and program data.
  • Adhere to agency and County client confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated reporting policies.
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings, required agency trainings and activities, individual supervision, and clinical group supervision.
  • Maintain a current BBS intern registration number or license.
  • Assist with outreach efforts to engage the target population and connect individuals and families with services.
  • Assist with implementation of contractual and programmatic requirements.
  • Participate in walk-in clinic coverage as needed to provide clients with community resource information, referrals, and service coordination support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
