About The Position

The Clinician LMHP/LMHP-E will assess the needs of individuals referred to the program and use information obtained to develop and implement appropriate treatment approaches and counseling support services. These services include developing individual treatment plans, conducting assessments, providing counseling services, and educating individuals on available community resources.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from a program that prepares individuals to practice counseling (60-hr Master's Program), which is offered by a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency.
  • Resident in Professional Counseling, Supervisee in Clinical Social Work, Resident in Licensed Marriage, Family Therapy, Resident in Substance Abuse Treatment, or eligibility to apply for residency.
  • New hires will be expected to apply for clinical supervision and residency within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of evidenced based practices to include but not limited to; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); emergency interventions; family, group, and individual therapies; psychosocial education; risk assessments; sex offender treatment; substance abuse interventions; etc.
  • Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individual’s treatment and access to community resources.
  • Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse.
  • Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement appropriate treatment approaches and counseling support services.
  • Develop individual treatment plans.
  • Conduct assessments.
  • Provide counseling services.
  • Educate individuals on available community resources.
  • Provide advocacy and enhance an individual’s treatment and access to community resources.
  • Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required.
  • Travel to any Horizon worksite, transport clients, and provide services to clients at other locations.
  • Attend trainings and Horizon meetings which may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.
