About The Position

The Clinician I (NP/PA/WHNP/CNM) role at Eastland Plaza Health Center in Stockton, CA, involves providing comprehensive reproductive health services to both male and female patients. Key responsibilities include reviewing medical histories, performing medical screenings and exams, interpreting laboratory data, and managing follow-up. The clinician will provide various contraceptive methods, emergency contraception, and medical assessment and management for STIs and genito-urinary conditions. The role also includes offering perimenopausal and menopausal services, managing complications related to abortion and sterilization, and providing medication abortion. Additionally, the Clinician I acts as a medical consultant to clinic staff, manages emergency situations, participates in staff meetings, provides staff training, and contributes to health center productivity goals. Non-essential duties include participating in after-hours coverage, precepting students/residents, and supervising volunteers/interns.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform the duties described above
  • Graduation from an accredited FNP or Primary Care PA program for comprehensive primary care centers; graduation from an accredited Women’s Health NP program is acceptable for limited primary care centers
  • Current State NP/PA license
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills appropriate to PPMM clinical duties
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Available to cover at least one evening clinic per week and one Saturday clinic per month, as needed by center
  • Current experience using computer and mouse
  • Experience using a Microsoft Windows based program and willing to learn new computer skills
  • Able to work cooperatively as a member of a health care delivery team

Responsibilities

  • Reviews & interprets the medical and social history of both male and female reproductive health patients
  • Performs appropriate medical screening procedures/exams for both male and female patients
  • Interprets laboratory data, orders additional laboratory investigations when indicated and ensures appropriate follow-up
  • Provides contraceptive methods: contraceptives that are self-administered (no procedure required)
  • Provides/oversees contraceptive injections
  • Provides emergency contraception
  • Performs medical assessment and management of basic STI and genito-urinary conditions for both male and female patients
  • Provides perimenopausal and menopausal services
  • Provides medical management for complications related to abortion and sterilization
  • Provides medication abortion, as indicated
  • Acts as a medical consultant to clinic staff
  • Manages emergency situations in the center
  • Participates in staff meetings relating to center management and provides staff training in current medical procedures which are relevant to reproductive health
  • Contributes to achieving health center productivity goals
  • Demonstrates PPMM customer service standards
  • Assists in other areas of center support work as required
  • Participates in after-hours coverage
  • Precepts students/residents
  • Works with/supervises volunteers/interns as applicable
  • Performs other duties as assigned
