About The Position

This Fee-for-Service LICSW position involves conducting Guardianship Evaluations for adults with intellectual disabilities. The role requires collaboration with a licensed psychologist and may include remote work, record review, and occasional in-person meetings. The clinician will assess decision-making capacity and functional abilities, conduct interviews, review documentation, and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports for Massachusetts court requirements. Recommendations regarding guardianship or alternative decision-making supports will be provided, and case consultations will occur as needed. Documentation and evaluation practices must adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work required.
  • Independent licensure (LICSW) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
  • Minimum of three years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • Experience conducting clinical assessments and psychosocial evaluations.
  • Strong clinical writing and report preparation skills.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, medical providers, and service systems.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage flexible scheduling.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with guardianship, capacity assessments, or court-related evaluations preferred.
  • Knowledge of DDS systems and community-based services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Clinical team report to assess decision-making capacity and functional abilities for individuals with intellectual disability referred for guardianship evaluations.
  • Conduct interviews with individuals served, family members, providers, and other relevant collateral contacts to gather information related to functioning and support needs.
  • Review relevant clinical, educational, medical, and service documentation to inform evaluation findings.
  • Work collaboratively with a licensed psychologist to complete multidisciplinary guardianship evaluations.
  • Provide professional recommendations regarding guardianship, limited guardianship, or alternative decision-making supports when appropriate.
  • Prepare clear, thorough written evaluation reports that meet Massachusetts court requirements for guardianship proceedings.
  • Participate in case consultation with the psychologist and referring agencies as needed.
  • Maintain documentation and evaluation practices consistent with professional, ethical, and legal standards.
