About The Position
The Division of Geriatric Medicine at the UNC School of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank Clinician Educator faculty member to join its team. The position offers 100% clinical effort and is suited to individuals committed to providing care to older adults in a collaborative academic environment. The Division, in partnership with the Center for Aging and Health, provides clinical care across several settings, including the interdisciplinary Geriatrics Clinic, continuing care retirement communities, skilled nursing facilities, and the Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) Inpatient Service. Its team-based approach emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered care, innovation, and professional growth. Faculty may contribute to educational initiatives that train medical students, residents, fellows, and interprofessional learners. These programs are supported by organizations including the Health Resources and Services Administration, The Duke Endowment, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Institute on Aging.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care to older adults across the Division’s care settings.
- Contribute to educational initiatives involving medical students, residents, fellows, and interprofessional learners.
- Help shape the future healthcare workforce in geriatrics and healthy aging.
