The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Geriatric Medicine trained physician to join our section of Geriatric Medicine at our Albuquerque campus, expanding our outpatient faculty group. UNM HSC is New Mexico's only academic medical center and primary teaching hospital, serving over 200,000 patients annually and housing the state's only Level I trauma center. New Mexico has one of the fastest-aging populations in the US, making geriatric medicine highly in demand. At the UNM School of Medicine, you will join a dynamic community dedicated to improving the lives of a culturally diverse population through collaboration, innovation, and skill refinement in research, patient care, and learning. This position focuses on providing high-quality, evidence-based clinical care to a dedicated patient panel while also teaching residents from Family Medicine and Internal Medicine, and Fellows in Geriatric Medicine and other specialties. Our new senior health center is a Level III NCQA-recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home, offering comprehensive primary care with integrated clinical pharmacists, behavioral health support, and care management teams. In addition to clinical duties, candidates will have dedicated time for medical student education and opportunities for advancement in leadership roles.
