The Division of General Internal Medicine is recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a physician that will be completing residency in 2027! This is a one-year role that is a clinically active position with patient care and direct teaching responsibilities comprising over half of the work week. The unique features of this position are: 1) the way in which resident and student education is heavily tied to patient care in a longitudinal fashion, and 2) the opportunities for leadership and advocacy on multiple levels. This position has been designed to enhance independent teaching for residents and medical students, provide regular patient care opportunities, and offer protected time and mentorship for scholarship. It is a year of excellent preparation for a clinician-teacher position as well as GIM practice, or ambulatory oriented fellowship. This one-year term, unique ambulatory-based scholarly position unites the teaching opportunities of an academic practice with a highly functional clinic located in the community. This has been designed to broaden understanding of both academic and community-based practices, facilitate teaching opportunities, provide opportunity for innovation in population health management, and allow for leadership development for those seeking to pursue leadership roles in community or academic medicine. The year offers a unique blend of mentored education, patient care, advocacy, and administration, with heavy emphasis on teaching outpatient medicine in a clinical context.
