Requirements

  • A current, unrestricted license issued by a state or territory of the United States as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Counselor, Clinical Psychologist or Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct clinical care experience with patients in facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric or chemical dependency treatment
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Ability to pass background check upon hire and throughout employment to include criminal felony & misdemeanor search, SSN validation/trace search (LEIE), education report (highest degree obtained), civil upper and lower search, 7-year employment report, federal criminal search, statewide criminal search, widescreen plus national criminal search, health care sanctions-state med (SAM), national sex offender registry, prohibited parties (OFAC) (terrorist watchlist), and a 10-Panel Drug Screen.
  • High-speed internet service (cable or fiber optic) with minimum download Speed of 20 Mbps, Upload Speed of 5 Mbps, and Maximum Latency of 100 milliseconds (must be installed before starting).
  • Frequent use of computer and phone systems
  • Must be able to constantly remain in a stationary, sitting position, communicate and exchange information with others, inspect information, perform repetitive motions with arms and fingers, interpret data, problem solve, make decisions, organize and plan, and maintain a positive and professional attitude in all situations.
  • Work is performed from home with company-provided equipment. Sitting for long periods of time is expected and use of fingers and hands for typing is necessary.
  • A quiet workspace with minimal background noise for calls.
  • This role requires working from a fixed, designated workspace in your home and does not allow flexibility in work locations even within the home.
  • A hardwired internet connection is required along with ability to sit for extended periods using company-issued wired headsets and desktop equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent clinical customer service by handling incoming telephone contacts from insured, EAP, uninsured callers, and providers.
  • Conduct clinical telephonic focused screenings, provide referrals to appropriate health care and community resources, conduct clinical precertification for appropriate level of care, promote care transitions activities for members being discharged from higher levels of care, address routine inquiries, and strive to reduce obstacles to access to behavior health care.
  • Apply professional clinical expertise to assess member needs, manage crisis and non‑crisis situations, coordinate care, and collaborate with members, families, providers, and physician consultants to facilitate appropriate treatment and progress.
  • Conduct utilization management, peer reviews, and medical necessity determinations using standardized clinical tools while supporting timely authorizations and continuity of behavioral health services.
  • Educate and guide members and providers on behavioral health and EAP benefits, community resources, managed care programs, and organizational policies to promote access, quality service delivery, and optimal health outcomes.
  • Provide follow‑up, support, consultation, and navigation services while maintaining clear communication and professional relationships across diverse clinical and operational situations.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and use approved clinical systems, technology, and tools in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards while functioning effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, accountability, and professional growth by participating in on‑call coverage, continuing education, peer review processes, committees, projects, and required meetings to support team and program success.
