About The Position

The Clinical Team Lead serves as the primary clinical training and workflow resource for the Triage team and supports Flex staff training as needed when triage responsibilities are assigned. This role oversees new hire onboarding, competency validation, and ongoing staff development. In partnership with the Clinic Flow and Operations Supervisor, the Clinical Team Lead supports efficient clinic operations, assists with patient flow and triage as needed, and promotes adherence to clinical standards, documentation requirements, and established workflows. The Clinical Team Lead provides day-to-day coaching, serves as a clinical and technical resource, and helps ensure high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care through effective training, communication, and operational support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Holds/maintains active CMA license or holds/maintains active LPN license, active in Georgia.
  • Holds/maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience, preferably in outpatient setting with working cardiac knowledge preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in triage workflow, clinical documentation, eClinicalWorks use, and patient care standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary clinical training resource for Triage staff and supports Flex training as needed when Flex staff are required to learn and perform triage responsibilities.
  • Owns and maintains the clinical training lifecycle for assigned new hires, including training readiness, structured training schedules, skills checklist completion, competency validation, and readiness for independent work.
  • Assists with trainee technical readiness, including eClinicalWorks setup needs, clinical favorites, templates, and workflow-specific tools required for successful onboarding.
  • Helps build, maintain, and execute the training schedule in coordination with the Clinic Flow and Operations Supervisor to ensure departmental benchmarks are met timely.
  • Maintains and signs off on clinical skills checklists to validate that staff meet required standards before functioning independently.
  • Completes 30-day and 90-day evaluations for assigned trainees and provides clear documentation of progress, strengths, gaps, and continued training needs.
  • Provides coaching, retraining, and re-education to current staff when workflow gaps, documentation concerns, or competency needs are identified.
  • Serves as a technical and clinical resource for staff regarding triage workflows, eClinicalWorks use, documentation standards, rooming expectations, and clinic-specific processes.
  • Provides coaching and feedback to staff within the scope of the Team Lead role; formal disciplinary action remains the responsibility of the Clinic Flow and Operations Supervisor and/or Clinic Nurse Manager.
  • Assists the Clinic Flow and Operations Supervisor with clinic flow by maintaining awareness of patient pacing, room availability, staff needs, and provider movement.
  • Assists with patient rooming, intake documentation, and triage support as needed to maintain clinic throughput and reduce delays.
  • Communicates workflow concerns, training barriers, documentation gaps, and clinic flow issues to the Clinic Flow and Operations Supervisor timely.
  • Supports same-day add-on, urgent visit, and provider pacing needs by assisting with patient readiness, room turnover, and workflow communication as directed.
  • Reinforces adherence to standard operating procedures and communicates deviations or training opportunities to the Clinic Flow and Operations Supervisor.
  • Assists with pulling department meeting data as delegated by the Clinic Flow and Operations Supervisor.
  • Supports a team culture that is respectful, accountable, and aligned with clinic standards.
  • Demonstrates cardiac-related knowledge and appropriately applies knowledge to patient care, training, and workflow support.
  • Independently completes assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Any clinical concerns require escalation to the Clinic Flow and Operations Supervisor, and/or Director of Clinical Operations as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
