The Clinical Unit Manager serves as an essential member of the nursing leadership team, working closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee the daily clinical operations of the unit. This role combines hands on clinical leadership with mentoring, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and staff development. You'll support the nursing team while helping ensure every resident receives compassionate, high quality, person centered care. Requirements

  • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Minimum one year of nursing leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care.
  • Strong understanding of CMS regulations and Virginia long-term care requirements.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing nursing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor nursing staff through daily clinical operations.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture.
  • Ensure residents receive exceptional, individualized care.
  • Partner with the Director of Nursing to implement best practices and clinical initiatives.
  • Monitor quality indicators and participate in Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
  • Conduct clinical audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate staffing needs and support providers during clinical rounds.
  • Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Assist with employee coaching, recognition, and performance development.
  • Support orientation, education, and ongoing staff training.
  • Serve as nursing leadership in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
  • Respond to resident and family concerns with professionalism and compassion.
