About The Position

The Clinical Trial Contract Analyst II independently negotiates a broad range of clinical trial contracts, balancing sponsor expectations with institutional requirements. This role ensures compliance with regulatory and financial standards, identifies potential risks, and proactively resolves contract issues with minimal escalation. Analysts at this level are accountable for managing their portfolio of agreements from intake through execution, collaborating with investigators, legal counsel, and business operations partners to expedite trial start-up. They serve as subject matter contributors, mentor junior staff, and support process improvement initiatives within the contracting team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or related field. - Required
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered in lieu of degree - Required
  • 2 year’s Progressively responsible experience in clinical trial contract negotiation, contract administration, or research business operations – Required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Healthcare, Public Health, or related discipline - Preferred
  • Direct experience negotiating clinical trial agreements in an academic medical center, healthcare, or research institute setting. – Preferred
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with investigators, sponsors, legal counsel, and compliance. – Preferred
  • Certification in clinical research or contracting (e.g., CCRP, CRCP, CCRA). - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independently negotiates and finalizes moderately complex clinical trial agreements.
  • Balances sponsor requirements with institutional and regulatory standards.
  • Identifies and resolves common risks, including indemnification, subject injury, payment terms, and IP.
  • Minimizes escalation by applying professional judgment and established precedents.
  • Oversees contract progress from intake through execution.
  • Maintains accountability for timelines and proactive communication with stakeholders.
  • Guides junior analysts on reviewing standard agreements and identifying key risks.
  • Shares negotiation strategies and process best practices.
  • Partners with investigators, compliance, and sponsors to address complex contract questions.
  • Contributes to faster trial activation through effective communication.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
