About The Position

Waukesha County's Department of Health & Human Services is recruiting for a Clinical Therapist (may underfill as Senior Mental Health Counselor). This grant funded position will be working in the Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic in our Human Services Center. Primary responsibilities will include coordination of multiple substance use treatment, prevention, and overdose prevention projects. Duties will include community outreach, naloxone training & distribution, clinical collaboration for peer support services, clinical collaboration for the Women's Health and Recovery Project (WHARP), data collection, post-overdose outreach, grant reporting, providing connections to services, and serving as a subject matter resource for clinicians.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a master's degree in psychology (clinical, counseling, educational,) counseling and guidance, social work or closely related area.
  • Advanced Practice Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor in Training, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Training, status as a minimum.
  • Two (2) years of post bachelor work experience in psychology (clinical, counseling, educational), counseling and guidance, social work or closely related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in sociology, social work, psychology or a closely related field [AND] Two (2) years of professional experience in the field of mental health including one thousand (1000) hours of experience delivering services to the chronically mentally ill and their families.
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with at least four (4) courses in sociology, social work, or psychology [AND] Three (3) years of professional experience in the field of mental health including one thousand (1000) hours of experience delivering services to the chronically mentally ill and their families.
  • A master's degree from a recognized college or university in sociology, social work, psychology, or a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
