About The Position

HealthRIGHT 360 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to vulnerable populations. Our mission is to address systemic barriers to healthcare and promote health equity. We offer a range of services including mental health care, substance use treatment (residential and outpatient), and primary health services. We also support individuals transitioning back into the community after involvement with the criminal justice system. By integrating physical and behavioral health, we aim to empower individuals to overcome challenges, build resilience, and facilitate recovery. Asian American Recovery Services (AARS) Lee Woodward Counseling Center for Women (LWCC) is an outpatient program offering integrated substance use and mental health (MH) services for women in San Francisco. Our approach is trauma-informed, harm reduction, and strengths-based, including individual and group counseling, case management, yoga, parenting support, and childcare. Our goal is to create a safe and respectful environment for women from diverse backgrounds, reducing the impact of substance use and mental health conditions to promote healthy, meaningful lives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
  • Current Behavioral Board of Sciences (BBS) registration from an accredited institution recognized in California (AMFT, APCC, ACSW).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of mental health and trauma informed treatment.
  • Knowledge of cultural stigmas of counseling and treatment services.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of the healing arts, case management, crisis intervention, client centered counseling, and group facilitation.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications.

  • Experience working with criminal justice population.
  • Experience working within the Santa Clara County – Department of Behavioral Health Services system.
  • Knowledge and experience with Medi-CAL documentation standards.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse recovery principles and resources; including Co-occurring disorders.
  • Knowledge/familiarity of AVATAR.
  • Familiarity with Drug Medi-Cal and ASAM Criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct substance use disorder (SUD) intakes and mental health screenings.
  • Complete Level of Care Assessments for clients seeking placement at LWCC or other HealthRIGHT 360 Outpatient programs.
  • Manage a small caseload of individual SUD and MH therapy clients.
  • Facilitate Group Sessions.
  • Provide SUD intake/mental health assessments and evaluations.
  • Provide integrated individual and group alcohol and drug counseling, and mental health therapy.
  • Provide culturally competent services using harm reduction and trauma-informed principles.
  • Identify treatment needs and recommend treatment plans.
  • Serve as the point of contact and coordinate referrals and follow-ups with other agencies.
  • Handle crisis interventions and assess situations for further needs.
  • Maintain a productivity target of 24 hours of billable services per week.
  • Monitor reports daily to prevent and clear compliance errors in client charts.
  • Maintain client charts in accordance with governing standards and regulations (Drug Medi-Cal).
  • Maintain records and documents services in a timely manner.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines.
  • Comply with Board requirements for license registration/renewal.
  • Coordinate intake planning and warm handoff with client’s SUD Counselor.
  • Facilitate groups using evidence-based strategies on a variety of core curriculum such as CBT, Seeking Safety, DBT and Relapse Prevention.
  • Coordinate discharge planning with client’s SUD Counselor.
  • Provide consultation to staff regarding symptom management, mental health conditions and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Attend staff and agency meetings.
  • Participate in agency training as required.
  • Complete all intake assessments and required paperwork, including Level of Care Assessment, within the timeline established by HealthRight360.
  • For Individual SUD and MH caseload, conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, complete release and consent forms and discharge paperwork.
  • Complete assigned Drug Medi-Cal, Mental Health documentation and billing.
  • Document all delivered individual and group services in various electronic systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
