About The Position

The Clinical Therapist is housed in the Health and Legal System Lab, in the Department of Psychiatry, and works under the supervision of the Laboratory Director and Clinical Therapist Supervisor. This position will heavily focus on providing SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) to residents at the Pulaski County Jail. Treatment will be provided in-person and virtually, both at the UAMS campus and at the Pulaski County Jail. The Clinical Therapist must have an understanding of mental health diagnosis and treatment, specifically related to Post Traumatic Stress disorder and Substance use disorders. The Clinical Therapist will be responsible for ongoing communications with their supervisors and other members of the lab.

Requirements

Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.
Current or provisional license by the Arkansas Professional Board - Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC)
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Work with participants to complete individual or group therapy.
Complete brief intervention protocol, assessments, and appropriate documentation.
Maintain a small individual therapy caseload.
Lead psychotherapy groups.
Provide crisis intervention to research participants, and take on other research duties as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
