About The Position

Jewish Family Service of Metro Detroit (JFS) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Therapist to provide intake, assessment, and counseling services to children, adults, and families. In this role, you will support clients through a range of mental health needs while fostering growth, resilience, and overall wellbeing. Requirements

Must have a master’s degree in social work
Active license in the state of Michigan
LMSW or LLMSW required

Responsibilities

Provides both short- and long-term counseling using evidence-based practices and interventions.
Conducts client assessments to evaluate needs and functionality, monitors progress through ongoing reassessment, and makes referrals to additional service providers (e.g., healthcare, housing, financial assistance).
Collaborates with clients and onsite psychiatrists to develop and update personalized treatment plans.
Connects individuals and families to appropriate community resources, serving as a liaison and advocate with community organizations to support client well-being.
Ensures documentation compliance by preparing and completing all required progress notes, safety plans, records, and reports promptly in an electronic database.
Adheres to standards set by external accrediting and licensing bodies, attending all assigned staff and committee meetings.
Participates in agency in-service programs, workshops, supervision, and team meetings.
Offers evening availability for clients unable to attend daytime appointments, with two evening sessions per week.
Protects client confidentiality and maintains trust by securing sensitive information in accordance with agency protocols.
